About 324 customers are without electricity today in a mostly residential section of Beverly Hills.

The power outage was reported to Southern California Edison at 6 a.m., said utility spokeswoman Jennifer Manfre.

At one point there were about 1,300 customers in the dark, but the utility department's switching center was able to restore power to a little more than 900 customers, said Manfre, who added it was not immediately known when there would be full restoration.
