A 38-year-old motorist suffered significant injuries during a crash in Beverly Hills today with a 22-year-old suspected drunken driver, a police sergeant said.
Paramedics transported the 22-year-old motorist, who suffered minor injuries, to an area hospital, said Beverly Hills police Sgt. Todd Withers.
The collision on Sunset Boulevard near Greenway Drive was reported to police about 2:20 a.m., Withers said.
The police sergeant said the crash occurred when a Chevrolet SUV driven by the 22-year-old motorist, traveling westbound on Sunset Boulevard, drove into a four-door Toyota going east.
"Due to the significance of injuries sustained by the parties involved, the Beverly Hills Police Department's Major Collision Response Team is handling the investigation," Withers said. "The roadway was closed for approximately four hours during the investigation."
