Ex-Mayor Due Back in Court in Animal Cruelty Case
Charlotte Spadaro is scheduled to appear Sept. 29 to determine trial readiness after 24 dogs are rescued from her Riverside County property.
Former Beverly Hills Mayor Charlotte Spadaro is scheduled to return to a Riverside courtroom Sept. 29 for a conference to determine whether her case is ready for trial.
The charges in that case stem from the rescuing of 24 dogs and other animals from Spadaro's Myers Street home by the Riverside County Department of Animal Services on April 23. One dog was reportedly found dead inside a trailer on the property.
On Aug. 19, Spadaro pleaded not guilty to 16 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty in another case, in which 200 unlicensed dogs were found Feb. 10, 2009, on property she leased on Jasmine Street in Riverside.
