DUI Checkpoint Scheduled for Saturday Night

The BHPD will be looking out for drunk drivers and checking people's licenses at La Cienega Boulevard and Gregory Way.

A  DUI sobriety and driver license checkpoint is taking place on southbound La Cienega Boulevard at Gregory Way from 8 p.m. Saturday, June 23 until 1 a.m. Sunday, June 24.

When operating a checkpoint, officers cone off a lane of traffic and typically stop three cars at a time at 15-car intervals, according to BHPD Sgt. Mike Foxen. The number of cars stopped may vary based on how busy the roads are.

The checkpoints are conducted in support of the California Office of Traffic Safety and Mothers Against Drunk Driving in their efforts to reduce incidents of alcohol-related accidents and deaths on public roadways.
