A DUI sobriety and driver license checkpoint is taking place on southbound La Cienega Boulevard and Gregory Way from 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23 until 3 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.
When operating a checkpoint, officers cone off a lane of traffic and typically stop three cars at a time at 15-car intervals, according to BHPD Sgt. Mike Foxen. The number of cars stopped may vary based on how busy the roads are.
The checkpoints are conducted in support of the California Office of Traffic Safety and Mothers Against Drunk Driving in their efforts to reduce incidents of alcohol-related accidents and deaths on public roadways.
If you have any questions regarding DUI sobriety/drivers license checkpoints or any other traffic safety issue, please contact the BHPD Traffic Bureau at 310-285-2196.
