Doheny Drive Hit-and-Run Victim ID'd

Los Angeles police seek driver in fatal hit-and-run just east of Beverly Hills.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office Saturday identified the man who was struck by a Jeep and killed in a hit-and-run crash near Beverly Center.

The man was struck around 10:25 p.m. Thursday on Doheny Drive, just north of Third Street and the Four Seasons Hotel, according to a report from the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.

The victim was identified as Anand Shah, 33, of Norwalk, said Coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz.

Shah, who was crossing westbound outside a marked crosswalk, was struck by a dark gray or green Jeep Wrangler that had been heading north on Doheny Drive, police said.

Despite the efforts of Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, he pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Police asked anyone with information about the crash to contact West Traffic Division detectives at (213) 473-0234 or at the main number for the division, (213) 473-0222.
