A Beverly Hills motorcycle officer was injured Monday when his bike collided with two cars at an intersection in Beverly Hills, but authorities have yet to determine who was at fault in the accident, a police sergeant said.

The crash took place about 1 p.m. at the corner of Burton Way and Doheny Drive, said Beverly Hills police Sgt. Max Subin.

"The officer collided with two cars, a BMW and a Lexus," Subin said. "He radioed that he was hurt and our officers went to the scene and were assisted by sheriff's deputies and LAPD officers."

Subin said that when he got to the accident site, the officer was up and ambulatory.

"He was taken to the hospital for treatment and tests," Subin said. "He was last listed in stable condition."

Subin said the accident snarled traffic on the streets surrounding the intersection where the collision occurred and motorists were urged to use alternate routes.

"Our investigation still has not determined who was at fault in the accident," Subin said.
