City Commends Fire Department for Trousdale Estates Response

Beverly Hills Fire Department accepts gratitude from city officials and residents for the expedient handling of the Sept. 26 fire that destroyed a mansion.

Beverly Hills Mayor John A. Mirisch and the city council recognized the fire department at Thursday night's meeting for the quick response time knocking down a fire Sept. 26 in Trousdale Estates.

The fire at destroyed a mansion 1051 Wallace Ridge and sent one firefighter to the hospital with minor injuries.

Interim Fire Chief Ralph Mundell accepted a proclamation from the city for a job well done, especially in protecting the surrounding homes. Dozens of BHFD members stood on the council chamber floors while Mundell accepted the proclamation and turned it back to the hard work of his staff.

Members of the Trousdale Homeowners Association also commended BHFD and the homeowner for clearing the property of brush.

Beverly Hills, along the rest of Los Angeles County, is under a prudent red flag alert throughout the weekend.
