BHPD Catch Construction Site Thief

Police set up a perimeter to find a man accused of stealing items from a residential construction site in Beverly Hills. A second suspect is being sought.

A man suspected of stealing items from a new-home construction site in Beverly Hills was in custody Monday, and a second man was being sought, police said.

The men allegedly stole tools and building supplies from the construction site in the 1100 block of Calle Vista Drive, said Beverly Hills police Sgt. Blake Nance.

Police set up a perimeter in the area just after 10 p.m. Sunday, which was maintained until about 3 a.m. Monday, Nance said.

Officers using dogs and a helicopter arrested one man, seized a vehicle, and recovered some property that was believed stolen, Nance said.

The vehicle did not appear to have been stolen, so it could lead investigators to the second suspect, Nance said.
