Beverly Hills Police Seek Public Help in Identifying Sexual Battery Suspect

A man sexually assaults a woman at a grocery store and leaves behind images of himself on a surveillance video.

The Beverly Hills Police Department issued images Wednesday of a man suspected of sexually battering a woman in a grocery store.

The alleged crime in the Pavillions market on the 9400 block of Olympic Boulevard, near Beverly Drive, occurred in late January, but a surveillance video and still images pertaining to the incident needed to be enhanced to make the suspect identifiable, Beverly Hills Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said.

“The suspect engaged the victim in conversation and used a ruse to bait the victim into assisting him in removing an item from a high shelf,'' Hoshino said. As the victim reached up to retrieve the item, the suspect sexually battered her.''
