Beverly Hills Police: Beware Phone Scams

A current con has suspects impersonating agents from the IRS.

The Beverly Hills Police Department is warning area residents of a recent phone scam suspects are perpetrating to bilk money from their victims.

According to a BVPD press release, imposters are posing as agents from the Internal Revenue Service, specifically from the agency’s investigations department. They call residents and demand immediate payment or face arrest. 

“Please remember that legitimate organizations to not conduct business in that fashion and will most definitely not threaten you with arrest for nonpayment,” states the press release.
