Beverly Hills Fire Department Raises Awareness for Breast Cancer

City fire department and firefighters' association dons pink t-shirts during October.

The Beverly Hills Fire Department along with the Beverly Hills Firefighters’ Association will support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by trading the blue on-duty uniform t-shirts for pink t-shirts in October.

The purpose of this BHFD and BHFA collaboration is to raise awareness of the importance of annual screenings, especially for women who are over the age of 40.

"I'm pleased to support the members of the BHFD and the members of the BHFA who made this proposal in their effort to bring attention to the life changing result of breast cancer," said Fire Chief Ralph Mundell. "Our organization remembers those who have lost their battle with breast cancer, supports those who are currently affected by breast cancer, and remind all men and women of the need for periodic exams."
