A Day at Woofstock Is Bitchin'

I didn’t even miss CCR or Richie Havens at Sunday’s Woofstock in Beverly Hills. The entertainment was provided by the four-legged variety that never disappoints. If there is a popular belief that Beverly Hills is a perfect place for the pampered pooch, Sunday was positive proof. Daughter aboard and grandson in hand we perused poochdom, enjoying every minute of the pomp and pageantry.

Not one to pontificate on poochiosity, I find myself with a proliferation of praise for this pleasurable way to spend an afternoon. Dog owners showed up en masse at to parade their pride and treat their dogs to a day of shopping and shows.

Stands surrounded the perimeter featuring gourmet doggy treats, clothing and all things pooch.

Dressed to thrill, doggies schmoozed and sniffed to their heart’s delight while their owners strutted their stuff, greeting friends and fellow dog lovers.

What a cute concept.

I have no doubt most of the human attendees will remember Woofstock far better than they can recall Woodstock. I know I will. And the canines had a fabulous time as well.

My grandson Ben was in awe, and of course the dogs were thrilled to wag their tails and pose for photo ops with all their fans. Children and canines always equal adorable.

This canine celebration is the most charming activity Beverly Hills sponsors every year. There are also adult food trucks for the hungry doggy chauffeurs and kids.

It’s a great place to stop and chat with friends, meet new people and admire the hoi polloi of the pet world.

The outfits and gourmet offerings were no less couture than Rodeo Drive’s finest, and why not? These are after all Beverly Hills pooches and deserve the very best. Even the most fashion-forward of the canine kingdom remained unaffected by their surroundings and lusted after the Frisbees and biscuits.

If you haven’t been to Woofstock, believe me that it’s worth a trip. No one does doggy doings better than Beverly Hills.
