The West Hollywood City Council has passed a resolution condemning the new reality television show Shahs of Sunset for perpetuating negative stereotypes about Iranian-Americans. Produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions, the show airs on the Bravo Network, a subsidiary of NBC Universal.

West Hollywood's opposition to the TV program is consistent with past actions denouncing negative stereotypes of the LGBT community and other groups who have faced discrimination and marginalization.
