Beverly Hills Then and Now
See how familiar places have changed over the years. You might be surprised.
Built in 1928, the I.Magnin & Co. department store chain chose its first Beverly Hills location at 9626 Wilshire Boulevard near the corner of S.Bedford Drive. By 1952, Saks Fifth Avenue expanded their presence into their then third store on that same corner, essentially occupying the entire block between S. Peck Drive and S. Bedford Drive. I.Magnin & Co. then moved into its new adjacent location at 9634 Wilshire Boulevard and occupied that building until they went out of business around 1992. At that time, the Saks Fifth Avenue men's store moved in and has been there ever since.
