Make-A-Wish Greater L.A. Hosts 30th Anniversary at Beverly Wilshire Hotel

A cast of celebrities, including Kobe Bryant and L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, attend the event in Beverly Hills.

Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles proudly celebrated the chapter’s 30th anniversary on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at The Wishing Well Winter Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The Greater Los Angeles Chapter celebrated granting more than 8,300 wishes to local wish children between the ages of 2 ½ through 18 in 2013. With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, the network of Make-A-Wish chapters grants a wish every 38 minutes somewhere in the country. It has granted more than 226,000 wishes since its inception in 1980; more than 14,000 in 2013 alone.

Hosted by Giuliana Rancic, the night featured a cocktail reception, dinner and awards. Kobe Bryant received the organization’s Shining Star Award, Sam Nazarian and SBE accepted the Corporate Leadership Award and Maria Menounos presented the Medical Visionary Award to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
