Joan Benedict Steiger to Present “Father of the Year” Award to Paul Sorvino at the American Diabetes Association Awards

Joan Benedict Steiger will present a “Father of the Year” Award to actor Paul Sorvino at the  American Diabetes Association's “Father of the Year” Awards on Wednesday, June 15th at the Beverly Hills Hotel. 

            Benedict Steiger has made more than a dozen feature films including starring in two films with her late husband, Academy Award winning actor Rod Steiger.   She recently received the Eternity Award from the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival and appeared on Fox’s “Dollhouse.”  She will be seen later this year in the feature film “Dead Border.”  Benedict Steiger’s brother suffers from Type 2 diabetes.

Dr. Kevin B. Kaiserman of SoCal Diabetes, and John Kao, President of CareMore Medical Enterprises, are also being honored for their commitment to the prevention and cure of diabetes and their efforts to improve the lives of all those afflicted with the disease.
