Tu B’Shvat Seder Celebration at Hollywood Temple Beth El

Tu B ‘Shvat, the Jewish New Year of the Trees, the 15th of the
Hebrew month of Shvat, celebrates the liberation of the land from the bondage
of winter just as the first blossoms appear on trees in the Land of Israel. It
has traditionally been marked by a Seder, similar in concept to the Passover
Seder.

Community members are welcome to join us for a community Seder, at 12 noon, in
celebration of hope over darkness following Shabbat morning services at 10 AM.

The Seder will be marked by selected readings on nature, the eating of fruits
symbolizing in Kabbalistic lore the ascent to spirituality, singing and
merriment, followed by a light lunch.
