South East European Film Festival Opening Night

The ninth annual South East European Film Festival runs from Thursday, May 1st to Monday May 5th at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills and the Goethe-Institut in the Miracle Mile.

The festival will present over forty feature films, documentaries and short subjects from the 15 nations which constitute one of the most historically consequential and culturally diverse regions of the world.

Highlights include the opening night gala and world premiere screening of “Sarajevo,” an historical epic which examines the hidden causes of the outbreak of the First World War, which began a century ago and whose reverberations we are still feeling today.

At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, SEEfest will host a free Business Conference in which experienced and aspiring filmmakers alike can learn from industry professionals about the creative, financial, and logistical advantages of film production in South East Europe.

The South East European Film Festival, SEEfest presents cinematic and cultural diversity of South East Europe to American audiences and creates cultural connections through films, artistic and social events. SEEfest was founded in 2006 by Vera Mijojlic, long-time film critic and cultural entrepreneur.
