Pacific Palisades Republican Club, the Malibu-Bel Air and the Santa Monica Republican Women's Federated Co-Host Candidates' Night

The Pacific Palisades Republican Club, the Malibu-Bel Air and the Santa Monica Republican Women’s Federated are hosting a community Candidates’ Night to introduce Elan Carr, Pete Peterson, and Brad Torgan.

The format of the evening will be a presentation by each candidate followed by a Q and A.  All questions will be taken from the floor.

This is an opportunity to hear your Candidates, ask your questions.

NOTE: Remember only the top two vote getters among all of the candidates running move on to the general election in November.

  • Elan Carr is running for U.S. Congress in the 33rd District Elan is currently a Deputy District Attorney for L.A. County. He is in the Army Reserve and has served in Iraq where he prosecuted known terrorists for attempted murder of U.S. personnel. 
  • Pete Peterson is running for CA Secretary of State. Pete is the executive director of the Davenport Institute for Public Engagement and Civic Leadership at Pepperdine University.  Pete has traveled throughout California with public officials to improve public processes, has served as advisor to several California cities and sits on several advisory boards dealing with public policy. A Santa Monica resident. he wants to make government more participatory, more transparent and more understandable,
  • Brad Torgan is running for State Assembly District 50.  Brad is a lawyer, currently in private practice. He deals with helping landowners comply with CA’s environmental and land use regulations. Brad is a longtime political activist and is currently Secretary of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County, and President of the Log Cabin Republicans of LA County.  He believes a new generation of leaders is needed in Sacramento who put the public interest ahead of special interests.
