Open House

Two lonely souls meet in a place where nothing is quite as it appears. Shem Bitterman's compelling World Premiere Open House tells the story of a hotshot real estate salesman who has an overpriced house he needs to unload and a seductive, mysterious woman seems to be his best bet. It's all in the sale.

Critics hail it as: "A theatrical pas de deux...absorbing" - GO! LA Weekly; Steven Leigh Morris; "Actors shine...performances as gripping as they are disturbing" - LA Times; “This is one Open House you won’t want to pass up. Performances make for a ninety-minute master class" – StageSceneLA WOW!

Itʼs holiday time in the California home buying season, traditionally a slow time when most potential home-buyers are out seeing movies, shopping, eating out or visiting with friends or family. Yet that’s precisely the time real estate agent Chuck Baker has elected to sell a difficult, emotional house - one with plenty of charm but unfortunately only one bathroom. His most solid prospect is Martha Tucker, a recent arrival to the Golden State, a woman with a discerning eye who is only worried that “something wrong” has happened in the house. Of course, feelings are subjective. But in this case, are they? Or, is it Chuck himself that Martha is responding to?

OPEN HOUSE will continue its run at 8pm Fridays and Saturdays, Sundays at 2pm and 7pm through September 22, 2013 (no performance on September 1st). The Skylight Theatre Complex is located at 1816 1/2 N. Vermont, LA, 90027. Tickets are ($29 - $34). Reservations: 702-582-8587 or www.skylighttheatrecompany.com
