Long Beach Opera (LBO) is looking for its fans to help celebrate the company’s 35th Gala Anniversary on October 6, 2013 at 5pm at the Latin American Museum of Art, 628 Alamitos Ave, in Long Beach. Andreas Mitisek, the Artistic & General Director of LBO, will be the primary Master of Ceremony, however, a surprise high profile celebrity will serve as a guest MC. The Gala will include fine food & wine; a preview of LBO’s 2014 season of operas by music greats from Duke Ellington to Wynton Marsalis; performances by featured singers; and the much anticipated GALA Auction. Unusual Auction items include: Dinner for 8 at your home with Maestro Mitisek; a Special Delivery Salon (Andreas and a singer will not only perform in your home, they’ll bring you the hors d'oeuvres and dessert as well); a Walk-On Role in one of LBO's upcoming operas (personally selected for you by the Maestro); a Musical Trip to Chicago (Explore Chicago with a personalized tour with Andreas, including tickets to the Chicago Opera Theatre, VIP Reception, brunch at Eleven City Diner); a fully catered dinner at a Santa Monica prime beach house, a stones throw from the Pier; dinner at a local restaurant; and possibly a SCUBA dive. Join your friends and neighbors and create your own table or come as a single, couple, or small group. You are bound to enjoy the Party. Tired of the same old operas? Consider attending the 2014 season, which promises to be different, brilliant, and imaginative. LBO’s motto “Expect the Unexpected” explains it all. GALA RSVP at http://www.longbeachopera.org/gala. Additional info: 562-432-5934
