Week in Review: Post Office, Chamber Endorsements and School Lunch

Also, the district's first intramural sports program for middle schoolers is starting up.

The USPS is moving forward with plans to relocate the North Maple Drive post office and the Beverly Hills Unified School District is trying to come up with a new lunch program for the remainder of the school year. Read about that and more in the top stories from Oct. 28 to Nov. 3.

1. Beverly Hills' 90210 ZIP code ranked No. 12 on Forbes' list of America's most expensive postal codes.

2. The USPS announced plans to sell its 325 N. Maple Drive location and open a less expensive facility nearby. No date has been set for the move.

3. The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsements of local issues for the Nov. 6 election.

4. BHUSD’s first intramural middle school sports program is starting with basketball tryouts for both boys and girls Nov. 5.

5. The Board of Education voted 4-1 at a special meeting to direct BHUSD staff to seek an agreement with Choicelunch to provide lunch at district schools through the remainder of the academic year.
