Mulholland Bridge Work to Cause 405 Closures Over Weekend

The northbound direction of the freeway will be closed Friday, while the southbound side will close Saturday.

The northbound side of the 405 Freeway will be closed from Getty Center Drive to Ventura Boulevard Friday night. The southbound side will be closed from the 101 Freeway to Getty Center Drive overnight Saturday.

According to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, crews will construct falsework, a temporary structure that will support the Mulholland Bridge during reconstruction.

The bridge work is necessary to complete a $1.2 billion widening project that will add carpool and exit lanes, as well as other improvements to the 50-year-old 405 Freeway between the 101 Freeway and the Santa Monica (10) Freeway. The overall project is scheduled to be completed next year.
