Mulholland Bridge Area Closures in Effect Friday

The west side of the bridge and a portion of Skirball Center Drive will close overnight for the next two Fridays due to construction.

Part of the Mulholland Bridge and Skirball Center Drive will close overnight on June 1 and June 8 while crews pour concrete.

Although crews had been pouring concrete for two days last week and one day this week, Metro officials say the work took longer than expected.

The concrete pour is part of the reconstruction of the southern half of the Mulholland Bridge.

According to Metro, the closure is from the west side of the Mulholland Bridge to Casiano Road. In addition, Skirball Center Drive will be closed from the northbound Skirball 405 Freeway ramps to Mulholland Drive.

The closures are in effect on both June 1 and June 8 from 10 p.m. until 10 a.m. the following day.

Metro officials say the bridge is also subject to overnight closures due to utility relocation. However, the closures will remain on the west side of the bridge to Casiano Road.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the area and pedestrians will be rerouted to a safe location, according to Metro.

The closures are subject to weather conditions. For the latest information visit the Metro website.
