Metro Community Meeting Thursday at Temple Emanuel

Residents are encouraged to attend the session and weigh in on plans to tunnel under BHHS as part of the Westside Subway Extension.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is holding a meeting from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday at in Beverly Hills to discuss the final Environmental Impact Statement/Report for the Westside Subway Extension.

Metro officials announced earlier this month that they are , a decision that is .

The city of Beverly Hills also announced that it will provide transportation to two Metro meetings being held April 18 and 26 in downtown Los Angeles, during which the Metro Board of Directors will discuss the Westside Subway Extension route.

“I encourage all concerned residents to attend these important meetings,” Mayor William W. Brien said in a statement. “It’s crucial that residents are fully informed and that Metro understand the depth of feeling in the community about the safety and future of our high school.”

March 29: Beverly Hills Open House Meeting, 5-7:30 p.m. at Temple Emanuel. Community open house meeting to learn about the findings of the Final Environmental Impact Statement/Report. Limited vehicle parking is available in the Temple’s underground garage off Herzl Way. Metered street parking is also available.

April 18: Planning and Programming Committee Meeting, 1 p.m. Metro’s six-person committee will review the FEIS/R and make recommendations. A 20-seat shuttle will depart from Kelly’s Coffee and Fudge on Rexford Drive. 

April 26: Metro Board Meeting, 9 a.m. The full Metro Board will review and discuss the final EIR and consider recommendations for the Westside Subway Extension. A final vote is possible at this meeting. A 47-seat bus will depart from Kelly’s Coffee and Fudge on Rexford Drive.
