Lindsay Lohan Ordered to Appear in Court Wednesday

The actress is released from rehab Tuesday and a hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Beverly Hills Courthouse.

A hearing for actress Lindsay Lohan has been set for 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Beverly Hills Courthouse, Patch has confirmed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Elden Fox scheduled the hearing to discuss the 24-year-old actress' case, which stems from a probation violation relating to two DUI convictions. Fox met with Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, last week and Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers this week to discuss Lohan's progress in rehab, according to wire reports.

Lohan was released Tuesday from a court-ordered rehabilitation program at the UCLA Medical Center after serving just 22 days of her 90-day sentence, RadarOnline.com reported.

The actress had been ordered to spend three months in rehab, but UCLA doctors overseeing Lohan's treatment recommended to Fox that she spend no more than 30 days at the treatment center, according to RadarOnline.com.

In addition to 90 days at inpatient rehab, Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel had also sentenced Lohan to 90 days in jail for her probation violation. Lohan began her jail sentence July 20 but was set free after about 13 days under the L.A. County Sheriff's Department's early release program. She entered rehab at UCLA on Aug. 2, immediately after her release from the Lynwood Correctional Facility.

Lohan's case was transferred from Revel to Fox after the former recused herself amid complaints from the District Attorney's Office that she had improperly discussed the case with the defense, as well as rehabilitation center officials, without informing prosecutors, according to wire reports.

Lohan's DUI arrests date back to 2007 and were widely publicized in the media. In May 2007 she crashed her 12-cylinder Mercedes-Benz SL65 into a hedge along Sunset Boulevard near the Beverly Hills Hotel and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Beverly Hills police officers on the scene reportedly found cocaine inside her vehicle.

Then in July 2007, Lohan was again arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, this time in Santa Monica. Cocaine was found in the back pocket of the jeans she was wearing, but publicized police reports of the arrest state that the Santa Monica police officer who found the drug initially thought it was crushed breath mints and threw the evidence away before realizing it was cocaine, causing possible evidence contamination.

In August 2007, Lohan pleaded no contest to two counts each of drunken driving and being under the influence of cocaine, and one count of reckless driving. She was sentenced to a day in jail, but was released from the Century Regional Detention Facility after only 84 minutes. Lohan was placed on three years' probation, which was later extended another year after she missed some of her court-ordered alcohol education classes.

In May 2010, Lohan's probation was revoked and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest after she missed a scheduled court appearance. Lohan, who was at the Cannes Film Festival to allegedly promote a movie, claimed that she was unable to make it back in time for court because her passport had been stolen in France.

Lohan made it to court four days later and was ordered by Revel—the presiding judge at the time—to wear a SCRAM alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet and undergo random drug testing.

On July 6, 2010, Revel sentenced Lohan to 90 days in jail and 90 days at an inpatient rehabilitation program for missing court-mandated alcohol education classes and violating the terms of her probation stemming from the two DUI arrests in 2007.
