I-405 Closures Schedule: 'Ramp Jam' Starts Thursday Night

And let the traffic games begin. A 90-day closure is in store for the 405 Freeway's Wilshire Boulevard on- and off-ramps beginning Thursday night.

"Ramp Jam" or "The Rampture," call it what you will. The fact is that the reconfiguring of the Wilshire Boulevard ramps for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project will have a significant impact on Westside traffic for the next three months or so.

Los Angeles Councilman Bill Rosendahl has also , announcing several measures to help emergency crews operate efficiently during times of dense traffic.

On Thursday night at 10 p.m., the 405 Freeway's Wilshire Boulevard westbound/northbound on- and off-ramps will be closed for demolition and reconstruction, according to Metro officials.

That means that if you're traveling west on Wilshire Boulevard and want to get onto the 405 heading north, think again. Heading north on the 405, you also won't be able to exit on Wilshire and travel west.
