Freeway Widening Project to Cause 405 Closure

Northbound lanes in the Mulholland Bridge area will begin closing at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Those commuting to and from Beverly Hills should take note: The northbound 405 Freeway will be closed from Getty Center Drive to Ventura Boulevard beginning Tuesday night due to a freeway widening project.

The freeway will be widened near the Mulholland Bridge to support construction, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The northbound lanes will begin to close at 10 p.m. Tuesday, but ramps may close as early as 7 p.m., according to Metro. The lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Wedensday.

The southbound 405 Freeway is expected to close overnight from the 101 Freeway to Getty Center Drive on Dec. 3-8.

Metro officials say Sepulveda Boulevard will not be closed during the full freeway closures and that emergency personnel will have access at all times.
