Budget-Friendly Options for a Beverly Hills Weekend

From a Ferris wheel on Rodeo Drive to celebrity appearances, there are lots of fun ways to pass the time.

Staying put in Beverly Hills and can't figure out what to do for the weekend without breaking into the savings account?

Here are some entertainment options for a wallet-friendly adults' night out or an outing with the whole family.

1) Celebrate fashion with celebrity host Samuel L. Jackson

The second annual Fashion's Night Out features more than 80 retailers providing high style fun and a chance to celebrate into the evening on Rodeo Drive.

Ever seen a Ferris wheel on the street? Shoppers will be receiving complimentary rides with proof of purchase from participating stores. Pinching pennies? Some in-store events are open to all. Check the event website for details.

What: Fashion's Night Out on Rodeo Drive

When: Friday from 6-10 p.m

Where: 200-400 blocks of Rodeo Drive

Cost: Free to enter, Ferris wheel ride free with a purchase from one of 80 participating retailers.

2) Take the kids and the family dog to Pet Celebration Day

The Alpha and Omega Pet Celebration Day is put on by Patch partner AOL on behalf of Lionsgate Films' upcoming release of Alpha and Omega.  Patch's "Alpha Hosts" are leading a Pet Celebration Day that includes crafts, interactive games and other activities for both children and animals.  The Pet Celebration Day is not only a great way to show appreciation to animals, but it's also a chance to meet other people and animal lovers from your community.

What: 'Alpha & Omega' Pet Celebration Day

When: Saturday at 2 p.m.

3) Spend an evening with actor Larry Miller

Ever wonder what it would be like to see a one-man show from a pro who is a master clown of comedy on stage, film and television?

The triple-threat is Larry Miller, an actor who has appeared in more than 50 films and many television shows.

He began his career with a memorable cameo as the brown-nosing store manager in Pretty Woman and scored big roles in films including Best in Show‚ Waiting for Guffman, The Princess Diaries and The Nutty Professor 1 and 2. 

What:  An evening with Larry Miller 

When: Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Where: Theatre 40, 241 S Moreno Drive

Cost: $35

4) Get fresh produce at the Beverly Hills Farmers Market

The Beverly Hills Farmers Market is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. 

What: Beverly Hills Farmers Market

When: Sundays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Where: 9300 Civic Center Drive
