Beverly Hills Dentist Pleads Not Guilty to 101 Felony Counts

A Beverly Hills dentist pleaded not guilty Friday to 101 felony counts, including insurance fraud, grand theft of personal property and filing a false tax return.
Tom K. Kalili, 57, owns and operates a dental practice called Beverly Hills Medical Suites at 416 N. Bedford Drive, according to the District Attorney's Office. His office manager and biller, Claudia Ventura, 38, is charged with 10 felony counts, including insurance fraud and being an accessory after the fact.
The two were released on bail . The charges against them stem from a multi-year investigation by the California Department of Insurance, the California Dental Board and the California Franchise Board.

If convicted as charged, Kalili could face more than 50 years in state prison and Ventura could face more than seven years behind bars, according to the District Attorney's Office.
