The Craving: A Piece of Pie

Fresh fruit and sweet toppings reign supreme in this week's craving picks.

Have a craving for something sweet, again? A piece of pie is a piece of cake to find in Beverly Hills.

1) Porterhouse Bistro

Crispy Apple Tart came out so hot, the à la mode ice cream on top was melted. With that said, redemption came in the form of the cinnamon and spice-covered apples that filled the treat. Each bite packed a crunchy punch. The crust lingered with cinnamon, too.

2) Lawry's The Prime Rib

The coconut banana cream pie at has a buttery coconut crust and a center full of sweet, ripe bananas. Toasted coconut shavings sprinkled over the whipped cream topping add a tropical punch that strikes a delicate balance with the richness of the filling.

3) Fogo de Chao

The key lime pie at has a crunchy graham cracker crust and a cheesecake-textured center. It looks like a heavy pie, but it's actually fluffy and full of citrus flavor. However, the added whipped cream is so sweet is almost clashes with the dessert. The drizzled key lime juice is enough of a garnish.
