The Beverly Hills Health, Fitness and Beauty Expo

The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce hosts an event to promote local businesses.

The hosted its annual Beverly Hills Health, Fitness and Beauty Expo on Sunday. A variety of businesses associated with the organization set up stalls adjacent to the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market to offer expertise and product samples for the betterment of a healthy lifestyle.

“This Sunday expo is a wonderful way for the Chamber of Commerce to give exposure to our community of members,” the chamber’s Sales and Marketing Associate Brenda Koch said.

There were medical representatives from Cedars-Sinai Medical Delivery Network and also Alternative Health Care Concepts. Both groups were on hand to offer advice and possible treatment options for disease and illness. Also present was Divorce Detox, a licensed psychology service that specializes in divorce recovery.

“These informal events give customers an opportunity to see the wide range of businesses in Beverly Hills that specialize in promoting a healthy lifestyle,” the chamber’s Account Executive Steve Shandobil said. Though not all featured businesses are located within city limits, they are all in the Beverly Hills area.

BioMechanix, a popular private gym, was at the event to explain how its strength and conditioning clinic operates.

“Each client works one-on-one with a certified specialist,” BioMechanix Director of Training Colby Lefebvre said. “We will design a custom training program to help clients who want to lose weight, build muscle or rehabilitate from a personal injury.”

If pampering was on your mind, then Style Bar Beverly Hills on South Beverly Drive was there to introduce Kim Vo, its exclusive line of hair, aromatherapy and body products.

“At our salon, we offer complete hair, makeup, manicure and pedicure services,” Style Bar owner Ramona Molayem said. “We also sell handmade jewelry and hair accessories.”

There was also , the hair salon on Dayton Way that offers hairstyles for girls and boys. For more than 40 years, the stylists at Tipperary turn the mundane and sometimes fearful experience of getting a haircut into a fun-filled experience. It incorporates hair styling along with toys, games and entertainment. All hair products at Tipperary are formulated just for kids. It also features special services, from getting the “chlorine green” out of hair to private lice treatments.

Perhaps the expo’s ultimate pampering was provided by Beverly Hills Acupuncture, part of the that specializes in pain control and general health wellness. Visitors were treated to free neck, back and body massages, or given advice on how acupuncture and Chinese herbs may aid in relieving stress.

“I work with patients who wish to manage their weight or who are suffering from pain from an accident or illness,” said Dr. Shangyou Zhong, the California-licensed acupuncturist who owns and operates the center.

If you didn’t make it to the chamber’s event this time around, there will be opportunities to learn about the organization and its members in the near future.

“The goal of the expo is to show our citizens a taste of the wide variety of services offered by the Chamber of Commerce,” said Sasha Rovin, a chamber member and the owner of A Treasured Nurse, Inc. on South La Cienega Boulevard. “We host four other large events similar to this throughout the year.”
