Risque Sunset Strip Billboard in Nearby Weho Will Slow Traffic, Get Tongues Wagging

If you're planning to take Sunset Boulevard into West Hollywood, you may notice a new billboard promoting a website connecting middle-aged women with younger men.

Beverly Hillians driving on Sunset Boulevard into nearby West Hollywood may be in for a surprise when they spot a risqué billboard overlooking the Sunset Strip Market.

The large advertisement shows a blonde woman holding a cocktail and lounging next to the words, "CougarLife.com … for Mother F***ers." Three letters of the last word are blurred, yet the message is still able to convey a curse word.

The billboard is on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Sherbourne Drive facing westbound traffic. The steel columns holding up the billboard are grounded in the old Tower Records overflow parking lot, where the Sunset Strip Market takes place each Thursday from 5-9 p.m.

According to the Huffington PostCougarLife.com describes itself as "the premier online dating service that pairs women in their prime with younger men and ends the double standard!"

Elissa Buchter, spokeswoman for Cougar Life and a self-proclaimed cougar, told Huff Post that the billboard is the first of more the company hopes to put up in West Hollywood and Hollywood.

The company is targeting the area, Buchter said, because it is the location of the national "cougar capital"—with more Cougar Life members in West Hollywood's 90069 ZIP code than anywhere else in the United States.

Regarding the billboard's implied language, Buchter commented, "The majority of cougars are single moms. And we thought it'd be a good way to get their attention and make a splash."
