New Year's Eve in Beverly Hills

Don't drop the ball when it comes to New Year's Eve planning. Here are some options for celebrating the start of 2012 in Beverly Hills.

At Nic's, the new year will be celebrated with the theme "From Russia With Love." The martini hot spot will feature a four-course menu that includes oysters, Moscow steak and eggplant Nicola. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best James Bond/femme fatale outfits. For seating from 5:30-7:15 p.m., the cost is $70 per person, excluding drinks, tax and tip. For those seated at 9 p.m. or later, the cost is $110 per person, excluding drinks, tax and tip. The latter seating does, however, include entertainment and party favors. At the Montage hotel, you can start your evening at 9 p.m. in the Lobby Lounge with live music, dancing and party favors. Another option is to celebrate with an Italian dinner at the hotel's  restaurant, which is presenting a five-course dinner, party favors and a champagne toast. Or you can enjoy a cocktail reception, four-course dinner with wine pairings and dancing at the all-inclusive gala celebration in the Marquesa Ballroom. Master chef Celestino Drago is preparing a five-course meal for $70 per guest. Featured items include smoked lamb belly, Dungeness crab and hearts of palm salad, rock shrimp tagiolini and a glass of Prosecco. The restaurant's regular menu will also be available. Call 310-786-8236 for reservations.

At the Belvedere, diners have two options for New Year's Eve. Starting at 6 p.m., patrons can enjoy a four-course early seating menu for $150 per person excluding drinks. Those looking for a later start to the evening can make reservations starting at 9 p.m. for the six-course Gala Menu, which costs $250 per person excluding drinks. Those enjoying the Gala Menu will have complimentary access to a live band and dancing at The Living Room in the lobby level of the hotel. Both dinners will feature music by resident pianist Antonio Castillo de la Gala. For reservations call 310-975-2736.

Overlooking the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive, THE Blvd is offering a special multicourse New Year's Eve meal with drinks for $295 per guest. Featured items include Maine lobster, diver scallops and Black Angus beef rossini. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., patrons can enjoy live music from the David Sparkman Band.
