Iconic Beverly Hills Hotels Get Nostalgic for Centennial

"Suite 100" is a hospitality promotion created by the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau, where five hotels redecorate for the 100th anniversary of the city.

Montage Beverly Hills has joined with The Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows, The Beverly Hilton, L’Ermitage Beverly Hills and The Peninsula Beverly Hills, to celebrate the city's centennial celebration in 2014 with "Suite 100," a hospitality promotion created by the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau.

Each hotel will redecorate one of its suites in an effort to transport guests who stay in the suite back to moments in time from the past 100 years and showcase the legendary style of one of the world’s most glamorous cities.

“It is an incredible time for these five iconic Beverly Hills hotels to celebrate the centennial anniversary of this historic area code,” said Hermann Elger, general manager of Montage Beverly Hills. “I am thrilled to be working together with my fellow hoteliers to kick off the next 100 years of our beautiful city. Our suite will immerse guests in glamour, with delightfully surprising touches at each and every turn.”

Mayor John Mirisch highlights the special effort for Beverly Hills, as well as Conference and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Julie Wagner, for the hotels to go to great lengths to replicate its earlier eras, reports Travel Weekly.

The Film Noir Suite created by interior designer Nina Petronzio will capture the sultry sophistication and mystique that was epitomized in the 1940s by jaded detectives, femme fatales and smoky jazz clubs.

Plush Home will design bespoke art-deco inspired furniture featuring lyre and geometric shapes, gold and silver leaf and mirrored finishes. Accessories will include a collection of Lalique crystal and art works from the period, as well as fun touches such as a vintage phonograph and vinyl records. A 1940s Indian Motorcycle outside on the Front Drive will capture the eyes of pedestrians as well as guests upon arrival.

Pricing for the Suite 100 package begins at $1,914 per evening, in a nod to 1914, the year of the city’s incorporation. Guests will find special amenities from that era including butler service, a stocked custom bar cart, a record player and a typewriter in the suite.

A unique dining menu will offer popular 1940s delicacies such as Lobster Therimidor, Filet Oscar, and classic banana splits served on specialty china. A bedside “Press for Champagne” button is sure to delight and surprise future Suite 100 guests.

Guests may begin booking Suite 100 on January 28, 2014, the city’s centennial day, for stays between March 7 and December 31, 2014.
