Going Out for a Nice Christmas Meal

Many local restaurants are offering special Christmas Day menus.

Want a nice Christmas dinner but don't feel like cooking? There are many local options available for a variety of budgets. To help you out, Patch has compiled this list of restaurants that still have plenty of times available. Note that all prices are exclusive of tax and service.

If you have star-struck relatives in town, try bringing them to the Polo Lounge at the . You may to run into celebrities in the restaurant or the hotel's many public areas.

The Polo Lounge offers an impressive four-course meal all day until 9:30 p.m. The cost is $99 for adults, and $55 for children 10 and under. Choose from two soups, six classic appetizers, eight main courses and three desserts. Entrees range from the traditional roasted turkey and stuffing to braised Sonoma lamb. For a taste of the Beverly Hills Hotel at a more moderate price, order the "holiday to go." This $440 package includes a 20-pound roasted organic turkey with all the trimmings, six side dishes, pumpkin pie and Polo Lounge rolls and flat bread. The meal can be picked up on Christmas Day between 10 a.m and 5 p.m. or delivered within five miles of the hotel for a $75 charge. Call 310-276-2251, ext. 5777 by this afternoon at 4 p.m.

Another upscale option is the three-course Christmas menu at The Belvedere at . The menu, offered from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., features specialties such as truffle butternut gnocchi, roasted free-range Sonoma turkey and beef bourguignon. Price includes free-flowing champagne. It costs $105 a person, and $39 for children under 12. Call 310-975-2736 to book a table.

Do you prefer brunch instead of dinner? Try the Circa55 Restaurant at . It is offering a special Christmas brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that includes a cook-to-order omelet station, a Belgian waffle station, varied salads, soups and sushi. Prices are $75 for adults, $65 for seniors and $35 for children. Call 310-860-7800 to book.

Want a classic steak meal?  at 8635 Wilshire Blvd. is serving four-course prix fixe meals from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The meals, which include a choice of appetizer, main courses with vegetables and seven different desserts, are priced at $54.20 for adults and $24.50 for children 12 and under. Of course, the customary tradition for Jews is to go to a Chinese restaurant.  at 9383 Wilshire Blvd. is well-established and specializes in traditional Chinese dishes. It is open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Call 310-275-4845 for reservations.

If you like Asian barbecue restaurants, the Beverly Hills branch of , located at 163 N. La Cienega Blvd., is open Christmas Day from noon to 11:30 p.m. The Japanese restaurant will offer a special, all you-can-eat meal priced at either $29.95 or $39.95, depending upon the choice of meats. If you prefer Korean barbecue grill, walk across the street to , located at 170 N. La Cienega Blvd. It is offering its normal menu from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Call 310-652-4187 for more information.
