Four Beverly Hills Hotels Named to Prestigious AAA Five Diamond List

Four Beverly Hills hotels are among the the 19 hotels in the state named to the 2012 AAA Five Diamond Awards given last week by the Automobile Association of America.

Just 126 of 31,000 hotels reviewed in North America and the Caribbean received such a high rating.

restaurant, located in The Peninsula, was the only Beverly Hills restaurant among the seven in the state to receive a AAA Five Diamond rating. The Belvedere has maintained that status since 1995.

"Five Diamond lodgings feature extraordinary physical attributes and meticulous personalized attention, and Five Diamond restaurants feature world-class service and imaginative menu selections using the finest ingredients," AAA Tourism Information Development Director Michael Petrone said in a statement. The diamond rating system is a 75-year-old tradition, he noted.

Properties identified by AAA as potential candidates for the five diamond rating undergo multiple evaluations and a final decision by a panel of experts. Hotels and restaurants that receive the rating are subject to unannounced annual evaluations by an AAA inspector, according to the association.
