A Beverly Hills outpatient clinic affiliated with the 1-800-GET-THIN Lap-Band surgery lost its accreditation, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Joint Commission denied the accreditation to the New Life Surgery Center, located at 9001 Wilshire Blvd., in early August. The newspaper reports the center remained open last week with a paper sign on its front door saying the hours "vary" without any mention of the accreditation struggles.

Five patients died after Lap-Band weight-loss surgeries between 2009 and 2011, according to the newspaper.

The Joint Commission warned the clinic in 2012 to make improvements.

Have you, or anyone you know, ever visited the New Life Surgery Center in Beverly Hills?
