Free Concert Friday Evening at Temple of the Arts

The iPalpiti Orchestra will perform a new composition by Temple of the Arts music director Sharon Farber.

at the is offering a free concert after its Friday service based on the theme of bringing peace through music. 

The iPalpiti Orchestra will perform the world premiere of Sharon Farber's new composition Only a Book. Farber, an Israeli-American of the Jewish faith, is the music director at Temple of the Arts. The featured flutist will be young Israeli-Arab Maron Anis Khoury.

The community concert starts at 8:30 p.m., after the scheduled 7:30 p.m. service, and is being led by iPalpiti music director and conductor Eduard Schmeider.

Temple of the Arts, located in the Saban Theatre at 8440 Wilshire Boulevard, is led by Rabbi David Baron, who approaches religion through music, drama, art and dance. He is the owner of the historic 1,900-seat art deco theater, which was recently entered into the United States National Registry of Historic Places.

"Music has the ability to heal, harmonize and bring peace," Baron said. "This must continue to be our mission."
