Banksy "Flower Girl" Street Art Up for Auction in Beverly Hills

Julien's Gallery in Beverly Hills holds live auction for street artist's famous piece at a Hollywood gas station.

Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills hosts its inaugural Street Art auction event Thursday night featuring the sale of artist Banksy’s "Flower Girl" mural.

Flower Girl emcompassed a 9-by-8 foot section of brick wall into one of Banksy’s signature murals. It drew crowds to the unassuming gas station in Hollywood where it was created and has since fueled the fire of the “street art” movement. Now Julien’s is pleased to announce the chance for a rare acquisition of this work, one of Banksy’s early large format street art murals.

Amid the growing controversy surrounding urban artists such as Banksy, the Dec. 5 auction at Julien’s Gallery will undoubtedly continue to spark the debate over what constitutes “true” art.

The live and online auction starts at 6 p.m.
