2012 Daytime Emmy Awards Winners List
The event was held Saturday at the Beverly Hilton.
The soap opera General Hospital received a healthy dose of respect Saturday at the 39th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, checking out with five victories.
Retired talk show host Regis Philbin also had a good night, winning two Emmys as a parting gift. Philbin's longtime Live! With Regis & Kelly won best entertainment talk show, and he and co-host Kelly Ripa were selected best talk show hosts.
The gala ceremony was held at the , marking a return to Southern California after two years in Las Vegas. It was presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which operates independently of the North Hollywood-based Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which conducts the Primetime Emmy Awards.

Cable's HLN channel televised the show, following two years on CBS.
All My Children, which ended its nearly 42-year run on ABC on Sept. 23, didn't win any Emmys, but did receive a tribute, as did One Life to Live, another canceled ABC daytime drama.

Bill Geddie, executive producer of The View, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions as a writer, producer and director in his more than 30-year television career.
