Whiz Kid: Michele Wunderlich
Beverly Hills Patch honors the best and brightest youth in our community.
Name: Michele Wunderlich
Grade: 12th
School:
Patch: What sports and/or clubs have you participated in during your high school career?
Wunderlich: I have been a member of the BHHS Advanced Dance Company for the past four years and choreographed a three-part duet with Tony Lee for the 2011 performance. I am also the president and founder of the Namaste Normans Yoga Club.
Patch: What high school accomplishment are you most proud of?
Wunderlich: I am most proud of the work ethic I have developed throughout high school. I care about my schoolwork and want my work to reflect well on me. I try to put my personality in my work: I do not want my work product to be generic, but rather be evocative of me. I try to learn with my work, not just to complete an assignment.
Patch: What advice do you have for incoming freshman on the high school experience?
Wunderlich: Maintain good grades, develop good study habits, get involved in a wide range of activities and take pride in Beverly and in yourself!
Patch: What are your plans for next year?
Wunderlich: In August, I will attend Barnard College. My reasons for choosing Barnard seem obvious to me: the premier liberal arts college located in New York City; a smaller college with a supportive environment, but with the resources of Columbia University; stellar peers and accomplished alumni. I love the comprehensive liberal arts curriculum offered by Barnard and that it is provided in a small class environment. I love that I will be able to combine my academic interests with my interests in dance and the attractions of New York City. I am eager to join the ranks of intelligent and confident women, shaped by their Barnard education.
