Three Installed to Beverly Hills Bar Association

This is the first time in the Beverly Hills Bar Association's history that the organization's three governing boards have been concurrently led by women.

Diane L. Karpman, of the Beverly Hills law firm Karpman & Associates, one of California’s premiere legal ethics firms, was installed as the 82nd president of the Beverly Hills Bar Association at the organization’s annual Installation and Awards Dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles.

Also installed was BHBA Barristers President Autumn Ronda, of Valensi Rose, PLC, in Century City, and Beverly Hills Bar Foundation President Bonita Moore, of Bird, Marella, Boxer, Wolpert, Nessim, Drooks & Lincenberg, APC, in Century City.

This is the first time in the BHBA’s history that the organization’s three governing boards have been concurrently led by women.

They were sworn in by The Honorable Charles S. Vogel (Ret.), who, in 1993, was appointed to the California Court of Appeals, Second Appellate District, where he served as the Presiding Justice of Division Four and the Administrative Presiding Justice until 2004. The guest speaker was Hon. Arthur Gilbert, presiding justice of the Court of Appeals Second District Division Six. He was appointed to the Court of Appeals in 1982, was appointed Presiding Justice in 1999.

In addition, receiving outstanding service awards were BHBA members Michael Sohigian (Board of Governors’ Award); Nancy Boxwell (President’s Award); Roshni Gandhi (Barristers’ Lawrence J. Blake Award); and Alan W. Forsley (Chief Executive Officer’s Award).

Proceeds from the Installation and Awards Dinner support the educational and community outreach programs of the BHBA.

The Beverly Hills Bar Association, serving the Los Angeles region since 1931, is the fifth largest bar association in California with nearly 6,000 members. Its mission is to serve its members, to lead the legal profession and to advocate for justice in the community.
