Police Warn of a Scam Artist

A man has been targeting Beverly Hills residents at their homes.

Beverly Hills Police are urging locals to be on the lookout for a telephone scam artist.

Police say a man has been calling local residents at home telling them that he has to collect a debt from them for unpaid tickets as a result of photos taken of them running red lights.

He also says they will be arrested if the ticket is not paid.

The man then claims the money must be paid through a "Green MoneyPak reload card" obtained from Walgreens, a CVS Pharmacy or Wal-Mart, according to police.

If you have fallen victim to this telephone scam, call the Beverly Hills Police Department at (310)550-4951.
