Photos: Beverly Hills Police Officers Association's Gala Celebrates 25 Years

The Beverly Hills Police Officers Association held its 25th anniversary Black and White Gala at the Beverly Hilton on Monday, Nov. 4.

The event began with the BHPD Honor Guard presenting the colors as well as the singing of the National Anthem by Beverly Hills resident Pontea Banayan and "God Bless America" by BHPD Officer Rachel Shannon.

BHPOA President Sgt. Michael Publicker thanked residents and business owners for their generous and unwavering support.

Chief Dave Snowden’s opening remarks paid homage to past Chief Marvin Iannone as well as the officers whose vision created the Black and White Gala in 1988.

Bruce Schulman, general manager of Mercedes-Benz of Beverly Hills and long-time BHPOA supporter, spoke about his respect and gratitude for the Beverly Hills Police Department and its officers.

The live auction featured a getaway to Four Seasons Resort Maui, once in a lifetime BHPD experiences, a custom BHPD painting by Beverly Hills artist Daniel Maltzman and an Infiniti Q50 four-door sedan, donated by Infiniti of Beverly Hills.

Chris Mann, star from NBC’s “The Voice”, provided the evening’s entertainment and wowed the guests with his powerful vocals. The cast of the FOX TV new police hit series, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” created a special video for the Black and White Gala, with star Andy Samberg both thanking the BHPD, as well as hilariously begging for “special treatment” should any member of the cast get pulled over in Beverly Hills.

The event wrapped up with a speech by Mayor John Mirisch and Chief Snowden presenting five awards to deserving BHPD personnel.

The 25th Annual Black & White Gala was one of the best-attended and most successful events in the city. Funds raised from the event will benefit the Officer’s Medical Trust and to scholarship funds.
