Greystone Mansion's Demo Garden Remodel Nearly Done

A fundraiser is planned this week, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for next.

Greystone Mansion of Beverly Hills is finalizing steps to complete the remodel of its Demonstration Garden with a fundraiser on Saturday hosted by Whole Foods Market, located at 239 North Crescent Drive in Beverly Hills. 

Five percent of the sales generated from Whole Foods Market’s “Giveback Day” will help support the planting, landscaping, and furnishings to complete the garden at Greystone Mansion.

On Sunday, April 13, community members are invited to join Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse, Armstrong Gardens Centers, Whole Foods Market and Beverly Hills resident Barbara Linderat a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly remodeled garden.

The free dedication event will begin at 2 p.m. and will include gardening swag bags, herbs and veggies classes from Armstrong Garden Centers, a fundraising plant sale, refreshments and other interactive gardening activities. Ongoing, complimentary gardening classes will continue to be provided to the community after the garden is completed.

Sponsored by the city of Beverly Hills, Armstrong Garden Centers and Whole Foods Market, the Greystone Demonstration Garden is an outdoor venue where individuals can come together to promote the benefits of locally grown, organic food that is environmentally friendly, sustainable and cost effective. The garden is dedicated to inspiring economic, health and educational benefits for a wide array of community members and groups.   

Individual gardeners, residents, Boy/Girl Scout troops, students, nonprofit organizations and local businesses that enjoy planting flowers, herbs and organic vegetables are welcome to participate in learning horticulture and landscaping techniques. 

To date, Armstrong Garden Centers has committed $62,000 in landscaping services, planting and construction materials, irrigation work, and corporate support for the Greystone Demonstration Garden.
