Beverly Hills city officials stayed busy Sunday morning acknowledging milestones in beautification projects. Prior to breaking ground for the Beverly Gardens Park and lily pond restoration, a ribbon-cutting was held at Hamel Park, one of the city's four mini parks, located at 214 Hamel Dr.
The city approved funding and awarded bids for the park's renovation in December 2012. Some of the work consisted of demolition and re-grading to improve the site for new grass, shrubs and focus on weed growth, trash removal and debris and existing concrete/asphalt slabs.
