City Council Approves Funding for Beverly Gardens Park

The restoration project is scheduled to be completed in time for the centennial celebration.

The Beverly Hills City Council has approved funding $100,000 to restore the lily pond at Beverly Gardens Park.

The council officially voted on the measure earlier this month.

The Friends of Beverly Gardens Park had been making efforts to restore the 1.9-mile long park, which is located on the block between Beverly Drive and Canon Drive, but had been running short of the necessary funds to begin construction on the project.

The lily pond at the Beverly Gardens Park was first built in 1906.

The work done on the pond should be completed by January in order to tie in with Beverly Hills' centennial celebration.
