Beverly Hilton Will Host the Imagen Awards

Stars expected to be on hand for Friday's ceremony.

Benjamin Bratt, George Lopez and Selena Gomez are among the nominees hoping to walk off with prizes tonight at the 28th annual Imagen Awards ceremony, honoring portrayals of Latinos and Latino culture in television and film.

Bratt is nominated for best television actor for "Private Practice,'' along with Guillermo Diaz for "Scandal,'' Jon Huertas for "Castle'' and Danny Pino for "Law & Order: SVU.''

Gomez has a nomination for best television actress for "The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex.'' She will compete with Sonia Braga of "Meddling Mom,'' Lana Parrilla for "Once Upon a Time'' and Monica Raymund of "Chicago Fire.''

Nominees for best primetime television program are "Castle,'' "Chicago Fire,'' "Dallas,'' "Grey's Anatomy,'' "Private Practice'' and "Switched at Birth.''

Competing for best feature film are "Bless Me, Ultima,'' "Border Run,'' "Dreamer,'' "Tio Papi'' and "Trouble in the Heights.''

George Lopez is nominated for best primetime special or movie-of-the- week for his special "George Lopez: It's Not Me, It's You.'' Also nominated are "Meddling Mom'' and "We Love Jenni Special.''

The winners, chosen by a panel of entertainment industry executives and Latino community leaders, will be presented by the Imagen Foundation at the Beverly Hilton.

Writer/producer Jesus Salvador Trevino will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award during the event, while a President's Award will be presented to philanthropist Christy Walton.
